Situation at the front: over the past day, the Defence Forces repelled 71 Russian assaults, the hottest — Pokrovsk direction

Since the beginning of the day on May 18, the Defence Forces repelled 71 enemy assaults on the front. One-third of the clashes took place in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The aggressor is shelling border areas. Today in the Sumy region, the following settlements were affected: Iskryskivshchyna, Tovstodubove, Ryzhivka, Rohizne, Korenok, Sopych, Luzhky, Bachivsk, Novovasylivka, Ulanove, Neskuchne, and Bunyakine. In the Chernihiv region, Khrinivka and Klyusy were affected. Vilna Sloboda in the Sumy region also came under an airstrike.

On the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out 26 strikes on settlements and positions of our troops.

On the South Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attempted three times to improve its position near Prylipky and Hrafskyi. One of these attacks is still ongoing.

On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy conducted two assault actions toward Petropavlivka.

On the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked eight times toward Stavky, Zarichne, Drobysheve, and Ozerne. One of these attacks is still ongoing.

On the Slovyansk direction, the occupiers attempted three times to improve their position toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kalenyky.

On the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive actions.

On the Kostyantynivka direction, the invaders carried out 11 attacks toward the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillya, Kucheriv Yar, and Vilne.

On the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers attempted 25 times to push our troops from their positions near Dorozhne, Shevchenko, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Molodetske, and Filiia. Four of these attacks are still ongoing.

On the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy is trying to advance toward Vorone. The assault action is ongoing.

On the Huliaipole direction, 15 attacks took place toward the positions of our defenders near Charivne, Nove Zaporizhzhya, Tsvitkove, Rivne, Zaliznychne, and Staroukrainka. One of these attacks is still ongoing.

On the Orikhiv direction, no assault actions by the enemy were recorded.

On the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attacked three times toward Antonivka and Bilohrudyi Island.

No significant changes in the situation have been recorded in other directions. Attempts by the enemy to advance are not being observed.

Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
