NABU responded to the scandal involving detective Bohdan Prokopenko, who received real estate from the suspect’s father

In connection with media publications regarding an NABU detective receiving real estate as a gift from his father, who is a suspect in a corruption case involving the Supreme Court, we report the following.

The specified employee was not part of the investigative team handling this criminal proceeding and had no access to the case materials.

An internal investigation is underway to clarify all circumstances surrounding the re-registration of the property.

In addition, on the day the notice of suspicion was served, the NABU Director signed a decision to seize the specified real estate and forwarded it for execution. The Bureau also submitted a motion to the court requesting the seizure of this property.

It was previously reported that retired Supreme Court Judge Oleksandr Prokopenko gifted an apartment to his son Bohdan Prokopenko, an NABU detective, prior to being served with a suspicion of bribery.
