Hid 2.5 million in his declaration: former Sumy region MSC official Makhukov fined only UAH 51,000
Former administrator of the Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 5943 in Okhtyrka, Sumy region, Dmytro Makhukov received a fine for concealing 2.5 million hryvnias in his declaration.
On May 18, the court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional submission of false information in a declaration). Makhukov failed to declare his income for 2024.
The investigation established that over 2.5 million UAH from various individuals were transferred during 2024 to bank cards that were actually used by Makhukov (though registered in another person’s name). He used these funds for his personal needs but did not indicate them either in the “Income” section or in the “Monetary Assets” section of the declaration (as readers may understand — we are talking about bribes).
The court approved a plea agreement concluded between the accused and the prosecutor. As a result, Dmytro Makhukov was sentenced to a fine of 51,000 hryvnias and deprived of the right to hold positions with organizational, administrative, and economic functions in state authorities and local self-government bodies for a period of 1 year.
