Situation at the front: 76 combat clashes recorded, the enemy attacked 24 times on the Pokrovsk direction

Since the beginning of the day, 76 attacks by the aggressor have been recorded on the front.

This is reported in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00 on 21 May.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Russian troops are shelling border settlements. Today in Sumy region, Iskryskivshchyna, Ryzhivka, Rohizne, Korenok, Sopych, Novovasylivka, Bachivsk, Ulanove, Neskuchne, Progres, Topolia, Budky, Havrylova Sloboda, Yastrubshchyna and Sumy were affected. Aviation strikes also hit Vilna Sloboda, Tovstodubove and Marchyshyna Buda.

Situation in the North

In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out one air strike with three guided bombs and conducted 44 shellings of Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements. One assault attempt was recorded.

Situation in Kharkiv region

In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attempted five times to improve its tactical position in the areas of Izbitske, Lyman and Vilcha.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attacked three times toward Kurylivka, Kivsharivka and Novoplatonivka. One attack is ongoing.

Fighting in the east

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attempted twice to attack toward Zarichne and Lyman. Both attacks are ongoing.

In the Slovyansk direction, the occupiers once tried to advance in the area of Riznykivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked toward Minkivka. The battle is ongoing.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, the invaders conducted 15 attacks in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillya, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day the enemy attempted 24 times to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Novyi Shakhove, Zatyshok, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Toretsk, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Kamianka, Serhiivka, Udachne, Molodetske and Novopavlivka. One attack is ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy tried three times to advance toward Verbove and Ternove.

Combat actions in the south

In the Hulyaipole direction, 19 attacks took place in the areas of Nove Zaporizhzhya, Dobropillya, Rybne, Zlahoda, Zaliznychne, Tsvitkove, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Hulyaipole and Charivne. One of the attacks is ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy once attempted to storm positions near Shcherbaky.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, one attack was recorded toward the Antonivka Bridge.

According to the General Staff, no significant changes were recorded in other directions. No enemy attempts to advance were noted.
