NABU and SAPO announced a new suspicion to the former deputy minister of infrastructure Vasyl Lozynskyi in the case of abuse

NABU and SAPO reported a new suspicion against former Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Vasyl Lozynskyi, who is already being tried in another case on obtaining unlawful benefit.

This was reported by the press services of the anti-corruption bodies, without naming the suspect. However, according to media reports, it is Lozynskyi.

As noted, Lozynskyi was charged with inciting an official of a subordinate state enterprise to abuse his official position. In addition, an official of the state enterprise was also charged with abuse of office.

According to the case materials, in the summer of 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated funds for the purchase of equipment to provide the population with alternative sources of light, heat and water supply during the winter period amid the destruction of critical infrastructure facilities.

«Acting in the interests of a specific supplier, the top official persuaded the deputy director of the state enterprise to conclude a contract for the supply of equipment at a price 30% above the market price. In return, he guaranteed him the position of director», – the anti-corruption bodies stated, adding that these actions caused millions in losses to the state

The actions of the former deputy minister are classified under part 4 of article 27, part 2 of article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the actions of the director of the state enterprise – under part 2 of article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
