Occupiers are losing the initiative on the battlefield: Russia’s monthly losses exceed 30,000 troops, - Zelenskyy
Losses of personnel in the Russian occupation army in the war against Ukraine remain very high. Every month, the aggressor country loses over 30,000 troops, of which about 23–24 thousand are killed.
Overall, the situation on the front remains difficult for Russian forces and offers no positive prospects. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Guardian.
As the head of state noted, the current situation on the front is the most favorable for Ukraine in the last two and a half years.
"It cannot be said that Russia is losing the war. But it can be stated that they are losing the initiative every day," the president emphasized.
On the eastern front, the occupiers’ advance has almost stopped. Zelenskyy reported that Russia loses over 30,000 troops every month, of which 23–24 thousand are killed and the rest are seriously wounded. He noted that the real figures may be higher.
"This is a very large number. It indicates that they are not winning this war," the head of state said.

Serious problems are also emerging inside Russia itself: last week, Ukrainian long-range drones attacked St. Petersburg and other regions, causing fires at oil depots and heavy smoke over the city.
These strikes have significantly worsened the situation in occupied Crimea, where key logistics routes have been disrupted. The peninsula is facing fuel shortages and transportation problems.
