PFU warned pensioners about the risk of losing allowances: which payments may be canceled

Ukrainian pensioners risk not receiving all additional pension payments if they do not notify the Pension Fund about changes in their status or do not confirm their right to receive supplements. This was reminded on the PFU portal.

As stated in the message, most additional payments are assigned under certain conditions. If these conditions cease to be met, accruals may be stopped.

Official supplements for pensioners: which allowances may be canceled

Among the most common supplements that may be reviewed or canceled are the following:

1. care allowance. Such payment is terminated if the pensioner has moved, started receiving another type of social assistance, or no longer needs external care, which is confirmed by relevant documents;
2. child support supplement. Pensioners may also lose it. This happens after the child reaches the age of majority or completes education, if education itself was the basis for accruing payments;
3. disability-related supplements. Such additional funds may also be subject to review. They may be canceled in case of failure to undergo a repeated medical examination or a change in the disability group;
4. supplement for excess insurance record. It may be recalculated after clarifying data on employment history or detecting inaccuracies in documents;
5. payments that depend on the place of residence. If the pensioner moves or the settlement loses its special status, the right to the corresponding supplements may be lost.

The Pension Fund advises to fulfill only one condition — to promptly report any changes that may affect the right to receive supplements.

This concerns, in particular, a change of residence, marital status, completion of education by dependents, change in health status, or other circumstances on which the assignment of payments depends.

It is also necessary to periodically check the relevance of information contained in state registers and the pension file.

How to apply for additional payments for a person of retirement age

To assign additional payments, one must contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine and submit documents confirming the right to the corresponding supplement.

Usually, a pension certificate and a package of documents depending on the type of supplement are required for this. Such supplements are not always assigned automatically.
