The case of the assassination attempt in Feodosia: The court has begun considering the case on the merits on charges against Kolomoiskyi

Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has begun considering the merits of the case in which Ihor Kolomoiskyi is accused of inciting the contract killing of lawyer Serhiy Karpenko.

According to the investigation, the reason for the assassination attempt was the lawyer’s refusal to amend the documents regarding the shareholders’ meeting of the Zaporizhzhya plant «Dniprospetsstal» in favor of Kolomoiskyi.

In August 2003 in Feodosia, four individuals brutally beat the lawyer — striking him on the head with a metal rod and inflicting numerous stab wounds to the chest, abdomen, and back. Karpenko survived.

He filed a civil lawsuit seeking 4 billion 400 million hryvnias in compensation for moral damages to himself and his family. Kolomoiskyi does not admit guilt.
