Bail deposit for ex-Minister Herman Halushchenko: "white" money and connection to the leak of "Mindich’s tapes"
According to Mykhailo Tkach, they are indeed buying out Herman Halushchenko from the SIZO. Allegedly, businessman Vasyl Astion may post bail for the former energy minister, which was reduced today from 200 to 150 million UAH (apparently at least that much in relatively “white” money was managed to be collected).
This is reported by Yuriy Nikolov.
Purely for the record, let’s note the connection to the leak of “Mindich’s tapes.”
Astion’s brother posted bail for Andriy Smirnov. This is the former deputy head of the Presidential Office whom NABU charged with illegal enrichment a couple of years ago. At that time Yermak and Zelenskyy dismissed the toxic Smirnov. Smirnov’s defence in court was taken up by Stanislav Bronevytskyi. He is a former SAPO prosecutor who resigned after failing a polygraph regarding the leak of Trukhanov’s interrogation protocol. In civilian life Bronevytskyi not only became Smirnov’s lawyer but also a co-founder of the law firm “Inveris,” which Smirnov himself had previously headed. He also launched the Telegram channel “Bronik,” where the same “Mindich tapes” were first leaked. NABU and SAPO had always kept them under wraps, publishing only those excerpts that formed part of specific suspects’ charges. The entire data set, however, was officially handed over to the lawyers. Only a week after “Bronik” published the fragment about Umerov, Mindich and allegedly Mariya Berlinska, many more transcripts reached journalists and MPs.
At that time Zelenskyy, in a fit of anger, imposed sanctions on Andriy Bohdan, who was rumored to have been behind the leak.
Yet the truth may be far simpler.
For example, Halushchenko may have grown tired of rotting in a cell while his other accomplices were released on bail. Mindich and Shefir had found “white” money for them. Exhausted by this neglect, the figure may have started distributing the protocols toxic to Zelenskyy in order to remind everyone of himself, as if to say “post bail for me too, because something needs to be decided.” And so they did decide. Not immediately, though—because by then the blast had also hit Yermak, and money had to be posted for him as well. He was, so to speak, the priority.
I hope Halushchenko talked before walking free.
