Terms of service and the front line: Fedorov spoke about how demobilization will proceed and promised to launch a "calculator"

Defecse Minister Fedorov announced that partial demobilization of servicemen who began service in 2022 or earlier will begin at the end of 2026.

He did not name clear criteria for demobilization. According to him, the decision will be made by the command taking into account the length of service and time spent on the front line. Fedorov promised to publish a calculator that will allow servicemen to check if they are eligible for accelerated demobilization by the end of the year.

At the same time, according to him, those who have the right to demobilization by the end of the year but do not know about it yet can sign a 24-month contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. If a decree on their demobilization is issued, they will be able to leave the service.

Recall that as part of the presented reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three options for further service are provided for current servicemen: an infantry-assault contract for 10 months, a combat contract for 24 months, and a basic contract for 24 months. According to the presentation, a 6-month contract can be concluded by those who have already been discharged from service during the period of martial law.
