Air Force: Russia launched 119 drones at Ukraine overnight, air defence shot down 97 targets

In the night of June 17, Russia attacked Ukraine with 119 strike drones. Air defence forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy drones, however there were hits.

This was reported in Telegram by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The enemy attacked with 119 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet ones), "Gerbera", "Italmas" and "Parody"-type decoy drones from the directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Orel – RF, Chauda – TOT AR Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defence shot down/suppressed 97 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, "Gerbera", "Italmas" types and drones of other types in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by 20 strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (debris) at 6 locations.

"The attack continues, with several enemy drones remaining in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.
