In the Kyiv region, a soldier in the AWOL killed a 17-year-old girl: the suspect has been arrested

AWOL serviceman stabs 17-year-old girl to death in her sleep after quarrel: faces life imprisonment.

The tragedy occurred in the village of Velyka Snitynka in Kyiv region. According to police, a dispute had broken out the day before between the 17-year-old girl and her 28-year-old neighbor. At night, the man entered the house where the victim was sleeping and inflicted fatal stab wounds on her.

The suspect was detained several hours after the crime. He was known to be in the AWOL status and had a prior conviction for a similar offense. He faces up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
