Ex-NABU detective Oleksandr Skomarov headed a department at Ukrgasbank, - Media

One of the key NABU employees, Oleksandr Skomarov, left the Bureau and since March has held the position of Director of the Department for Work with Problem Assets of the state-owned «Ukrgasbank».

This was reported by the media, citing sources in the bank.

Skomarov, who previously headed the NABU detectives unit, became widely known in July last year amid an acute conflict between the SSU and NABU.

Recall that at that time the SSU detained NABU detective Magamedrasulov (according to media reports, he was involved in the investigation of the «Midas» case on corruption in the immediate circle of Zelenskyy, which later became known as «Mindichgate»).

At the same time, the SSU released materials that effectively accused Skomarov of cooperating with MP Khrystenko, suspected of treason, as well as ties with Kolomoiskyi and facilitating the illegal departure abroad of Kolomoiskyi’s business partner Hennadiy Boholyubov (according to media reports, it was Boholyubov who played a key role in organizing the wiretapping of Mindich’s apartment by NABU forces).

Skomarov himself denied the accusations. No official suspicions were brought against him by the SSU.

The connection between Skomarov’s dismissal from NABU and this story remains unknown.

Another former NABU employee, Rajami Jan, also holds one of the key positions at «Ukrgasbank». He serves as Director of the Compliance Department. At the Bureau, he headed the Criminal Analysis and Financial Investigations Department.

Notably, NABU is investigating a criminal case regarding the activities of former managers of «Ukrgasbank». In particular, former NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko is a suspect in the case.
