Kolomoiskyi is suspected of ordering a murder: the court has begun hearing the victim’s testimony

The court has begun hearing the victim’s testimony in the case of charges against Kolomoiskyi for inciting the commission of a contract killing of a lawyer.

Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv continues to consider on the merits the case of charges against businessman Igor Kolomoiskyi for inciting the murder of lawyer Serhiy Karpenko.

At the hearing on June 23, the parties began hearing the victim’s testimony. During his speech, the lawyer spoke about his acquaintance with Kolomoiskyi, threats from him and his partner Mykhailo Kiperman, as well as the beating of partners. The next hearing, at which the court will continue to hear the victim’s testimony, will take place in July.

According to the investigation, the reason for the assassination attempt was the lawyer’s refusal to make changes to the documents on the shareholders’ meeting of the Zaporizhzhya plant «Dniprospetsstal» in the interests of Kolomoiskyi.

In August 2003 in Feodosia, Karpenko was brutally beaten by four unknown persons: they struck him on the head with a metal rod and inflicted numerous stab wounds to the chest, abdomen, and back. The lawyer survived.

Karpenko filed a civil lawsuit for compensation for moral damage to him and his family in the amount of 4 billion 400 million hryvnias. Kolomoiskyi does not admit his guilt.
