The lawyer of the suspect in the Berezovska murder case stated that the defendants were framed by the management

At the trial, the lawyer of Zhikovych, who is suspected of murdering the hitwoman Berezovska, stated that his client and the second defendant in the case — DIU officer Reut — had been framed and were merely following orders from their superiors.

The defender confirmed that Zhikovych had previously worked in the SSU, served in the police, and was a member of the «Right Sector», but he is currently a civilian.

«How did it happen that a DIU officer and a former SSU employee ended up here? Why did the DIU officer initially confess to committing this? I believe this was not murder in the direct sense, since murder is the illegal deprivation of life, whereas here they simply eliminated a specific person. When Reut realized he had been framed, he hoped, while giving testimony, on his higher-ups, who had probably instructed him to carry out certain actions. But when he was served with the suspicion notice, he realized he did not want to end up in prison for performing his duties to protect the country», — the lawyer stated.
