Strikes on oil refineries have collapsed gasoline production in Russia: fuel is enough for only 65% of needs

After Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries, gasoline production in Russia meets only 65% of the population’s needs.

Reuters reported this, citing industry sources.

According to the agency’s sources, 40–45 thousand tons of gasoline are currently produced daily — about 35% below seasonal demand. In June, the deficit stood at 25% per day.

At the peak of summer demand, Russians need 115–120 thousand tons of gasoline per day, the sources specify. Traders note that up to 6 thousand tons arrive daily from Belarus, and warehouse stocks are also being used.

The industry expects the situation to improve in the second half of July, provided there are no new strikes on the plants: enterprises will resume operations, and fuel imports will increase.
