SBGSU: Belarus is expanding military infrastructure towards Kyiv and Chernihiv regions

Despite the fact that no enemy strike group is observed on the territory of Belarus, Ukrainian intelligence is recording the development of military infrastructure there.

This was stated on television by Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

«Activity is visible on the territory of Belarus regarding the further development of military infrastructure. These include training grounds, locations for housing personnel or equipment in the future, and logistics routes. For the most part, this is happening in the direction of Chernihiv and Kyiv regions. Less of it is observed near our western regions – Volyn and Rivne», Demchenko said.

At the same time, according to him, Russia continues to pressure Belarus in order to push it toward more active participation in the war against Ukraine.

«Overall, as intelligence units note, Russia continues to pressure Belarus so that it joins the war launched by Russia against our country on a larger scale with its own forces. Belarus is resisting this, trying in every way not to give in to the pressure. However, the threat to Ukraine in this direction as a whole remains, and our primary task is to build up defensive capabilities along the border line and in the border areas in order to be ready for the development of any situations», Demchenko noted.
