The Skelya Regiment urged the media not to link the unit to the criminal case of former Chief of Staff Luchanov
The 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skelya" asks not to associate their unit with the actions of the brigade commander of the 155th Brigade, Stanislav Luchanov, who is a figure in the case regarding the abduction of civilians. They point out that these events occurred after the serviceman’s service in the regiment.
The "Skelya" regiment notes that it has "no connection either to the circumstances of this criminal proceeding or to the decisions" that may have been made in another military unit. This is stated in the unit’s statement.
It is noted there that Luchanov began his military career in 1998, held a number of positions, and served in "Skelya" as chief of staff for less than a year before being appointed commander of the 155th Brigade. The unit adds that attempts to place responsibility on the regiment due to the fact of his service there are "misguided."
"If one accepts the logic of certain publications, then, by analogy, responsibility for the actions of any serviceman should be placed on every unit in which he has ever served. Such an approach is misguided. Criminal liability is always personal and cannot be transferred to military units where a person served at different periods of their career," the regiment states.

The unit asks the media and journalists to cover this story "while adhering to the principles of accuracy and completeness of information," taking into account Luchanov’s entire biography, so as not to create the impression that it is connected exclusively with the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skelya."
"We ask the media to avoid associating Stanislav Luchanov exclusively with the ’Skelya’ regiment, which, in turn, is undergoing a period of profound transformation, recognizes the need for change, and is initiating a systemic renewal of internal processes, management approaches, and service standards," the unit’s statement says.
"Skelya" states that the unit "strongly condemns crimes against civilians and distances itself from any criminal acts and persons who commit them," regardless of their places of service. The regiment emphasizes that, should Luchanov’s guilt be proven, all those responsible must "bear the liability provided by law, regardless of military rank, position, or previous places of service."
