Bulgaria withdraws from the "Coalition of the Willing": Radev refuses military support for Ukraine

Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev stated that the country will no longer be part of the "Coalition of the Willing" supporting Ukraine.

Bulgaria, which participated in previous coalition meetings, did not have its representative at the Monday meeting in Paris.

"We are not participating in the coalition that advocates for continued financial and military assistance to Ukraine. The resolution of this conflict lies not in prolonging it by military means, but in a powerful diplomatic initiative that will ultimately end the escalation," Radev told journalists.

The publication notes that this step further distances Bulgaria from the majority of European Union states supporting Ukraine.

Radev, an outspoken critic of military aid to Ukraine, has repeatedly rejected accusations of taking Russia’s side in the war, stating that he advocates for "pragmatic" relations with the Kremlin.
