Prosecutor Serhiy Myrzoyan told the court about the arrest of the commander of the 155th mechanized brigade Luchanov and how exactly the soldiers abducted and killed the Moseychuk brothers.

According to the investigation, Luchanov involved his subordinates in the crime — Dmytruk, Zayets, Pertsula, Artamonov, Shurk, Mykytenko, Kozak and Kolomiyets.

On the night of July 27, the soldiers broke into the Moseychuks’ house in the Kyiv region, shot Roman twice in the leg, tied both brothers up, blindfolded them and took them to a military unit near Poltava, where they held them until August 1.

To cover up the abduction, on August 1 Luchanov ordered battalion commander Oleksiy Dolhalenko to kill the brothers at the training ground. He shot one of them eight times in the head and the other once.

Luchanov denies the charges.

Luchanov claimed that at the time of the brothers’ murder in the Kyiv region he was allegedly on vacation and could not give orders to the soldiers.

The prosecutors are requesting a preventive measure — detention in a pre-trial detention center for 60 days without the right to bail. He faces 15 years to life imprisonment.
