Zelenskyy held the first meeting with new Prime Minister Koretskyi: government steps and Ukraine support discussed

"Meeting with Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi. The first meeting of the new government has already taken place, and today we discussed the steps that will be taken in the near future, as well as work with Ukraine’s partners to fulfill our agreements on support for Ukraine".

This was written by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"The Prime Minister has begun preparations for the government program, which will be presented to the public and parliamentarians. The approach to governance will be as pragmatic as possible: personal responsibility of each minister and all heads of central government bodies for implementing the tasks identified as priorities. Serhiy has every opportunity to shape such government policy and such a team of central executive authorities that will be capable of strengthening our state with additional forces.

We also discussed with the Prime Minister the appointment of acting ministers of foreign affairs and defense of Ukraine. The critical priority is preparation for the heating season. In particular, Serhiy informed that the independent supervisory board of Naftogaz has appointed Serhiy Fedorenko to lead the company for a defined period – a professional individual: he went through the transformation of Ukrnafta together with Serhiy Koretskyi. It was a path of successful cleansing of all internal processes in the company from predatory oligarchic influence, and thanks to this Ukrnafta became one of the most profitable state-owned companies.

Work is also constantly ongoing to restore energy infrastructure after Russian strikes. Today, the Russians again attacked Naftogaz facilities – unfortunately, there is noticeable damage. We discussed with the Prime Minister what steps are needed in such conditions, and it is important that, despite constant Russian attacks, we implement everything we agreed on to prepare for winter. Glory to Ukraine!", - concluded the head of state.
