Night ballistic strike on Kyiv: dead and wounded reported, five districts of the capital were on fire
As a result of a nighttime attack by Russian troops on Kyiv, carried out with ballistic missiles, one person was killed and eight others were injured. Fires and destruction were recorded in five districts of the capital at once.
According to rescuers, the enemy strike caused extensive damage in the Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Desnianskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts. In the Solomianskyi district, firefighters extinguished fires in an office building, residential and non-residential areas, as well as in a supermarket. In addition, debris damaged the windows of a residential building, where rescuers freed a person from the second floor.
The situation in the Shevchenkivskyi district proved to be the most tragic: while extinguishing a three-story annex to an administrative building and cars, rescuers found a deceased person. Rescue operations were also carried out to free the injured, and the blast wave shattered windows in residential buildings and damaged more than ten parked cars.
In the Dniprovskyi district, fires were recorded in cars, non-residential buildings, warehouses, and a dormitory. Smoke was also observed near a shopping center. In the Desnianskyi district, fire engulfed warehouse premises and non-residential buildings. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, firefighters quickly extinguished a fire on the roof of a private house, managing to rescue four residents.
Units of the State Emergency Service and all relevant services continue to work at the scene, clearing the aftermath of the attack and assisting the injured.
