The Russian strike on the Intertop Ukraine warehouse caused damages of 450 million hryvnias and threatens a shortage of goods

Russia’s attack on Intertop Ukraine’s main warehouse has caused significant losses to the chain’s inventory. The company preliminarily estimates direct losses of goods at UAH 450 million, and temporary shortages may occur in certain categories in stores and on the website.

This is evidenced by an interview with Intertop Ukraine CEO Serhiy Badritdinov for the Ukrainian Retailers Association.

According to Serhiy Badritdinov, the company is currently unable to fully offset the hundreds of millions in losses. Therefore, the main task after the attack has been to restore inventory as quickly as possible and rebuild logistics.

Even before the shelling, the company managed to remove part of the goods from the warehouse. Intertop had previously distributed inventory between stores and smaller warehouse facilities, and also reduced the time products spent at the central distribution center.

“Thanks to the swift and coordinated actions of the team, we managed to remove part of the goods from the warehouse before the shelling. Unfortunately, it was physically impossible to save everything due to critically limited time and the lack of warehouse space on the required scale,” Badritdinov said.

The warehouse stored current season products as well as new deliveries of the autumn-winter collection. This includes Intertop’s main product categories — footwear, clothing, accessories, and cosmetics.

In total, hundreds of thousands of items were stored in the warehouse. “Some of the new goods arrived literally the day before the attack and were supposed to be distributed to stores the next day, but unfortunately, they were lost,” added Serhiy Badritdinov.

Therefore, according to him, temporary shortages of goods may occur in certain categories.

At the same time, the company is already working with suppliers to promptly replenish inventory and accelerate new deliveries.

Despite the destruction of the main logistics complex, Intertop stores, the website, and the mobile app continued to operate.

The company quickly found new warehouse facilities and is accepting new deliveries. Goods are being distributed to the temporary warehouse.

“In the first hours after the attack, the Intertop Ukraine team began rebuilding key logistics and operational processes,” Badritdinov said.

According to him, the company has already ensured continuous communication with customers, is accepting new deliveries, and distributing goods to the temporary warehouse.

It is impossible to name the exact timeline for full logistics recovery, as it depends on external factors.

“The situation is difficult but fully manageable. (...) The company has a clear stabilization plan, and all key processes are already being restored,” the CEO noted.
