Russia could attack Ukraine’s gas infrastructure this autumn and winter, — DIU

Russia may expand strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure starting in the fall, in particular attacking the gas transportation system and gas production facilities.

This was stated by Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence.

According to Chernyak, in the autumn-winter period, not only facilities providing electricity generation and heat supply may be at risk, but also the gas transportation system and gas production facilities in Poltava and Kharkiv regions.

"We believe that in the autumn-winter period, in addition to facilities that ensure electricity generation and heat supply, the gas transportation system and gas production facilities in Poltava and Kharkiv regions may also come under threat of attacks," the DIU representative noted.

Additionally, according to Ukrainian intelligence, there is a risk of strikes on infrastructure that ensures gas withdrawal from storage facilities and its import from Europe.
