Russia attacked Sumy and Chernihiv regions: seven civilians injured, including a child

Russian troops attacked the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions during the day. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings, cars, and civilian infrastructure were damaged, with injuries and fires reported.

During the night of August 13, Russian drones attacked Chernihiv. As a result of a Russian drone crashing on the territory of one of the car cooperatives, a fire broke out in two garages. A car was destroyed, and garage facilities were also damaged.

In the morning, Chernihiv came under attack again. According to the head of the CMA, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, an unused utility building was damaged. There were no casualties among the population.

In the Chernihiv district, a utility building, a gas station, and dry vegetation caught fire due to falling Russian drones. A 10-year-old child suffered a mild stress reaction.

In the Sumy region, seven civilians were injured as a result of Russian attacks over the past day. Private houses, cars, shops, administrative buildings, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were also damaged or destroyed.

From the morning of August 12 to the morning of August 13, Russian forces shelled 19 settlements in 12 communities of the region 50 times. The heaviest attacks were recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

The Sumska, Bezdrytska, Mykolaivska rural, Yunakivska, Myropilska, Krasnopilska, Lebedynska, Esman ska, Shalyginska, Seredyno-Budska, Kyrykivska, and Velykopysarivska communities came under attack. Russian forces used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs.

In the Seredyno-Budska community, three women and a man were injured as a result of mortar shelling. In the Shostka and Lebedyn communities, a 61-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man were injured in drone strikes.

In the Hlukhiv community, an 81-year-old man was wounded after running over an explosive device with a motor cultivator. Two other people sought medical help for injuries sustained during previous Russian attacks.

Among the damaged property are private houses, non-residential premises, a shop, an administrative building, cars, and civilian infrastructure facilities.
