Ukrainian jet interceptor drones are already undergoing combat trials, — Fedorov
The first Ukrainian jet interceptor drones to combat jet “Shaheds” are undergoing combat testing.
This was reported by former Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Today we see a trend: Russians are gradually replacing conventional Shaheds with jet versions. This is a change in aerial warfare strategy. Our response must be swift to continue defeating Russia in every technological cycle,” he noted.
Fedorov recalled that last year Kyiv began systematically developing interceptor drones, which involved opening the market, conducting combat tests, and increasing procurement.
“Ukraine now has one of the most advanced ‘small’ air defense systems in the world, and other armies are studying its experience,” the former minister added.
According to him, the urgent task is to multiply efforts tenfold to counter the threat of jet drones as quickly as possible.
“Over the past year, our team has issued grants to manufacturers through Brave1, analyzed solutions, and assisted with testing. Today, several Ukrainian manufacturers already have such solutions,” Fedorov said.
He added that he recently visited a company that was among the first in Ukraine to develop a jet interceptor drone capable of speeds exceeding 600 km/h. The development is currently undergoing combat testing.
