Ukraine and 8 more countries joined the extension of EU sanctions against Iran

Ukraine and eight other European states have joined the European Union’s decision to extend sanctions against Iran.

This is stated in a declaration by the European External Action Service (EEAS).

The EU Council extended the restrictions because Tehran supplies weapons to Russia. In addition, Iran is accused of supporting armed groups in the Middle East and the Red Sea region, as well as undermining freedom of navigation.

At the same time, four individuals were removed from the sanctions list.

Ukraine, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Norway, North Macedonia and Montenegro have joined the EU initiative. All nine countries have committed to aligning their national policies with EU norms, and Brussels has officially welcomed this step.
