On the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian troops are trying to exploit the last "window of opportunity" for advancement, moving through forest belts and bypassing the Kostyantynivka agglomeration. The occupiers are actively using small infantry groups, taking advantage of the leaves on the trees for camouflage.

This was told to Slawa.TV by the chief sergeant of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar" Vitalii "Stokhid" Piasetskyi.

According to him, the enemy has not been conducting mechanized assaults with equipment recently, but the activity of Russian infantry remains high.

"On the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy is quite active at the moment. Although there have been no mechanized assaults involving equipment in recent times, the activity of the enemy’s infantry is quite high. And they are now trying to create certain favorable conditions while they still have a certain window of opportunity, while there are leaves on the trees," the serviceman noted.

Piasetskyi explained that the Russians are trying to move mainly through forest belts in order to bypass the settlements of the agglomeration. According to him, the Russian command understands that with the change of season such attempts will cost the occupiers significantly greater losses.

"They move through forest belts, trying to somehow bypass the Kostyantynivka — Druzhkivka — Oleksiieve-Druzhkivka agglomeration, because somewhere up top in their command they understand that this window of opportunity will soon close, and movement through forest belts will lead to quite significant losses," the chief sergeant emphasized.

According to the serviceman, the Russians are using the tactic of constantly advancing small groups. Most often, pairs of servicemen move toward Ukrainian positions.

"Enemy infantry groups move mainly in pairs, if they can even be called people, advancing toward our positions. They have a radio station, they have phones with certain software that allows them to determine the coordinates of their location. And in this way they are looking for favorable passages for their infantry," Piasetskyi said.

He noted that such groups are essentially scouting routes for subsequent units: trying to find passages in Ukrainian engineering obstacles or create them.

Russian troops pass information about the routes they find to their command. If a group is destroyed, the next one is sent soon after.

"A pair went out, hit a minefield or was destroyed by drones, and the next pair is sent. And this happens at very short intervals," the serviceman explained.

Before that, according to Piasetskyi, the occupiers identify assembly points where up to ten soldiers gather. From there, they gradually advance forward and try to find an opportunity to penetrate through Ukrainian positions.

"Before that, they are given some kind of assembly point where mainly up to a dozen of these enemy personnel gather. And from there they gradually advance and in this way try to infiltrate somewhere through our positions," the chief sergeant of the 93rd Brigade added.
