Canada will allocate $250 million to Ukraine for weapons: Carney announces supply of air defence systems
Canada will allocate weapons to Ukraine worth 250 million US dollars.
This is reported by the BBC.
Canada has approved a $350 million Canadian dollar aid package to Ukraine (equivalent to $250 million US).
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated during Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit that the countries agreed on the supply of air defence systems. Carney did not specify the specific types of weapons.
According to sources, equipment and ammunition will be supplied through a mechanism that allows Ukraine’s allies to purchase weapons in the US and transfer them to Kyiv.
In addition, Carney announced the launch of a program to increase drone production to several million units per year. One-third of the total volume will be directed to Ukraine.
