The Danish government is allocating 45 million Danish kroner, or more than 6 million euros, to programs supporting Ukrainian veterans. The funding is planned for two years.

This was announced by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen on the X network.

The funds will come from the development aid fund. They will be transferred to the Red Cross and the Mission East organization, which coordinate veteran support programs in Ukraine.

The funding will be directed, among other things, toward the reintegration of veterans into Ukrainian civil society. This includes assistance in the areas of physical and mental health, as well as rehabilitation.

Part of the funds will be used to help veterans return to the labor market.

Lars Løkke Rasmussen emphasized that the money will not be transferred directly to individual veterans.

"This is not about coming and providing payments to Ukrainian veterans. It is about modernizing their professional environment and civil society so that they can handle this task," the minister noted.

In total, Denmark will allocate 45 million kroner to programs supporting Ukrainian veterans over two years.

At the end of August, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced the allocation of an additional 3 million euros to support Ukrainian veterans.

Belgium has also provided 4 million euros for the digitalization of veteran services.
