The National Anti-Corruption Bureau announced the exposure of a scheme to embezzle about 100 thousand tons of petroleum products worth almost 3 billion UAH. According to the investigation, one of the leaders of a well-known business group, which actually controlled the oil sector of Ukraine’s economy, was involved in organizing the scheme.

This was reported by NABU.

According to the investigation, the petroleum products were transferred to a controlled company under commission agreements. They were then sold through a network of gas stations.

In total, about 20% of all Ukrnafta fuel was sold under the scheme.

Separately, NABU reported an in-absentia notice of suspicion to the former vice president of Ukrnafta, who is a citizen of a foreign state. The documents regarding the suspicion were sent abroad.

People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak suggested that Ihor Kolomoiskyi, who has been in pre-trial detention for a long time, may have received a new suspicion in this case.

According to the investigation, the scheme operated through a controlled company and allowed a significant volume of petroleum products to be withdrawn from the state enterprise. NABU estimates their total value at almost 3 billion UAH.
