The HACC appeal left Yelyzaveta “Muza” Ivakhnenko in custody with bail of 20 million hryvnias
The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court did not grant the defence’s requests regarding Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko and upheld the preventive measure against the suspect. She will remain in custody but has the option to post bail.
This was reported in the framework of the “Carthage” case.
The court kept Yelyzaveta “Muza” Ivakhnenko in custody with the alternative of bail set at UAH 20 million. The decision was delivered by judges Nataliya Doroshenko, Serhiy Bodnar, and Danyila Chornenka.
The defence asked the court to overturn the first-instance ruling and reject any preventive measure. As an alternative, the lawyers proposed placing Ivakhnenko under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office insisted on maintaining the previously imposed measure — detention with the possibility of posting UAH 20 million bail.
As an example that investigators view as evidence of fictitious business activity, they cite a conversation between Kropyva, nicknamed “Chancellor,” and Ivakhnenko, known as “Muza.” According to the investigation, during the conversation Ivakhnenko spoke about the need to “push through” the largest possible amounts — UAH 6 million each, as in the previous year.
In addition, investigators claim that Ivakhnenko attempted to obstruct the criminal proceedings. In particular, according to the investigators, she hid her expensive “handbags” and deleted photographs from Madrid showing former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
