Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation at the Office of the Prosecutor General Serhiy Kropyva, who is a figure in the NABU “Carthage” case, attended events of the “East Europe” foundation. It was this foundation, according to its head, that booked former Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
This was reported during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s temporary investigative commission by the organization’s head, Viktor Lyakh.
Lyakh said he has personally known Kropyva since the latter’s time as deputy head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration. According to him, last year Kropyva attended one of the foundation’s events in Odesa.
During the meeting, MPs asked Lyakh whether it was his foundation that Kropyva and his girlfriend Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko—known in the “Carthage” case files under the pseudonym “Muza”—were discussing on the NABU recordings.
“I can’t say, it’s just some foundation,” Lyakh replied.
He also stated that Ivakhnenko is not a staff member of the foundation. At the same time, the head of the organization could not answer whether Kropyva’s girlfriend could have been a contractor for the foundation.
Kropyva himself was earlier remanded in custody as part of the NABU “Carthage” criminal proceedings. Ivakhnenko is also a defendant in the case and is being held in pre-trial detention with an alternative bail of UAH 20 million.
