In Russia, a high-profile 1997 murder has been solved: the trail leads to Putin
The Federal Security Service of Russia has solved the high-profile murder of the Vice Governor of St. Petersburg, Mikhail Manevich. It is claimed that the crime was ordered by the leader of the Tambov organized crime group, Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin).
The group was closely linked to the then Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg, and now the Kremlin’s dictator, Vladimir Putin, according to Russian propaganda media citing the FSB public relations center. The murder was committed in 1997.
It is noted that the crime’s suspects have provided testimony. According to them, one accomplice observed the official’s residence and relayed information about his movements to another. The latter shot at the vehicle in which the Vice Governor was located.
As the media reports, during his tenure as Deputy Mayor of St. Petersburg, Putin collaborated with the Tambov organized crime group regarding the lease of a fuel-supply complex in Pulkovo. Barsukov’s people acquired it thanks to a decree signed by the then city official. For this deal, as reported by the media, Putin received 4% of the enterprise’s profits.
