Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a very complex operation to capture a commanding height in one of the front directions. They recaptured the enemy position, which improved the tactical position of the Defense Forces units.

The operation was called “Operation Hoverla”, during which the defenders captured a Russian who hoped to get through Ukraine with weapons in his hands all the way to Poland. A video of the defenders’ combat work was published on MTR social networks.

It is noted that their task was to capture a stronghold of the Russian Armed Forces at a commanding height. Ukrainian units failed to take control of it for several months.

The MTR teams began the special operation "Goverla" after careful planning and preparation, in cooperation with units of the Defense Forces.

The operators set out on a combat mission under the cover of fire support, electronic warfare (EW) and drones. Thanks to their coordinated and professional work, the special forces drove the invaders out of the stronghold.

While clearing enemy trenches, MTR fighters eliminated a number of Russian military personnel. In addition, two Russian would-be paratroopers were captured. One of them said that he did not come to fight, but for “freedom,” because “actually, he wanted to go to Poland because his great-grandfather was from there.”

The complex and effective special operation allowed the Defense Forces to improve their operational and tactical position. After establishing full control over the strong point, certain Ukrainian units were brought to the heights.
