Recently, the defenders of the Ukrainian sky have been shooting down more Russian Su-34 fighters and other enemy aircraft. Most likely, this became possible not due to the arrival of certain types of anti-aircraft missiles, but due to the skill of our air defense units.

Military expert of the Defense Express portal Ivan Kyrychevskyi said this on the Espresso broadcast. He emphasized that the question now is not what exactly was used to shoot down the Russian planes, but that this was done despite the measures the enemy is resorting to to counteract Ukrainian air defense.

“Our air defense has learned to operate under constant enemy pressure in the front-line zone and has learned to shoot down Russian aircraft. It is unlikely that such intensity of damage is associated with the arrival of certain types of anti-aircraft missiles. Rather, this is the operational skill of our Anti-Air Forces,” Kyrychevskyi noted.

The fact that our air defense forces have learned to shoot down occupiers’ combat aircraft is evidenced by a number of aircraft lost to the enemy over the past month alone. And on Tuesday, February 27, a day of intense fighting, the soldiers managed to land two Russian Su-34 aircraft.

The expert also suggested what types of weapons the sky defenders could use for this.

“It could be a Patriot in different combinations. Even within the framework of the FrankenSAM project, they talked about various Western details. Also, some of our structures stated that we had a “Death Star” called the “S-200 complex”, which has a declared range. targets up to 250 km. We also have the Italian-French SAMP/T complexes, which also have a fairly high range for hitting aerodynamic targets,” he said.
