The Ukrainian Armed Forces showed the use of buggies at the front
The Ground Forces showed a buggy with which soldiers of a separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine perform tasks. Defenders note its high maneuverability in front-line off-road conditions.
Also, according to the warrior, this light vehicle has shown high efficiency both in patrolling and in combat. A photo of the buggy, which “every man dreams of,” was shown on the Telegram channel of the Ground Forces and on the Facebook page of the 117th Mechanized Brigade .
“BUGGY is a military “BEETLE” of the 117th Separate Brigade, which every real man dreams of! It provides not only high maneuverability in off-road conditions, but also firepower. This light vehicle is effective for patrolling and combat operations. Speed, maneuverability, cross-country ability buggy," noted the Ground Forces.
Small, lightweight off-road vehicles with open wheels, later called buggies, appeared in the United States back in the 1950s. Their key purpose is off-road driving.
The buggies got their name from their first prototypes: they were made from used Volkswagen Beetles – which is why Americans began to affectionately call them “buggy.” ––Ed.
The buggies were made simply: the body, doors and wings were removed from the car, installing a lightweight frame or a fiberglass body (as an option, a stripped-down version of the “original” body was left). It was the Volkswagen Beetle that was perfectly suited for such a modification - thanks to the cross-country ability and strength of the chassis of this car, its high ground clearance, the absence of a radiator, and the rear engine. In addition, literally anyone could buy such a car.
Over time, buggy lovers improved their cars more and more, spontaneous speed competitions began to arise, which later acquired a professional character.
For 2022, there were different types of buggies with differences in design depending on the purpose of use. So, these light cars are used in sports, in combat and when conquering deserts.
