Air defence forces at night shot down all 13 Shaheds with which the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine

On the night of April 18, air defence forces destroyed 13 Russian attack drones of the Shahed-136/131 type in the Ukrainian sky. The enemy launched it in several waves, the attack continued until Thursday morning.

There is damage in several areas due to falling debris. The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, spoke about repelling the latest attack.

According to him, the occupiers attacked with 13 strike UAVs from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF) and Cape Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).

All Shaheds were shot down by anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces in the Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Vinnytsya, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

According to the Southern Defence Forces, that night, in two waves with an interval of three hours, the occupiers sent groups of attack UAVs from the south to the central and western regions of the country. In their operational zone, the defenders shot down two drones: one of them was in transit through the Kherson region, and the other was “hunting” for the infrastructure of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA, Serhiy Lysak, said that the defenders shot down one drone over the Kryvyi Rih region. In one of the villages of the Mirovska community, Nikopol district, two private houses and a car were damaged during the attack, no people were injured.

The head of the Ivano-Frankivsk RMA reported that the Russian occupiers tried to attack critical infrastructure facilities. Thanks to the air defense forces, all UAVs were destroyed. True, fires broke out as a result of the falling debris, but initially there were no casualties.
