Occupants continuously attack Chasiv Yar, - military man

The Russian Armed Forces have been tasked with capturing Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast by 9 May, when Russia celebrates Victory Day. And they are throwing all their forces into the attack. However, Oles Malyarevych, deputy commander of the Achilles battalion of the 92nd Separate Mechanised Brigade, told Hromadske Radio that everything "that moves towards the town is destroyed" by the Ukrainian military.

Speaking about the situation in and around Chasiviy Yar, the soldier noted that several brigades are operating there, including the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. His brigade is covering their comrades from the air to prevent the enemy from capturing the settlement.

"They have been tasked with capturing the town by 9 May, and we have been tasked with preventing them from doing so. The enemy has no territorial successes. They (the Russian Armed Forces - ed.) are stopped in the area of Bohdanivka, in the area of Ivanivske. To the south - Klishchiyivka and Andriyivka, they also tried to seize the territory, several positions were lost there, but the 92nd Brigade regained their positions the day before yesterday," said Malyarevych.

He noted that the situation in the Bakhmut sector is very difficult and enemy artillery is still active. However, the number of tanks and armoured personnel carriers has decreased. And the Ukrainian military is doing everything possible to prevent the Russians from achieving their goal.

"They are really doing everything possible to capture at least something along the canal line and even a little further," said Oles Malyarevych.

He also noted that the information about the enemy’s alleged seizure of several dominant heights, which sometimes appears on social media, is not true. In his opinion, it is written by bloggers and journalists who want to "publish an insider".

"Perhaps they want sensations. There’s a village nearby called Novyi Chasiv Yar - it’s on the other side of the canal, near Chasiv Yar. Several enemy assault groups reached there and were destroyed at the same moment. But for some reason, bloggers decided to say that the Russians were in Chasiv Yar. They were there, but not for long, they did not reach the heights," Malyarevych said.

"Basically, everything that is moving towards Chasiv Yar is being destroyed," he concluded.
