Bratchuk explained why the Russian Federation began to hit Odesa with ballistics more often
The Russian occupation army has recently intensified rocket attacks on Odesa. To carry out terror, the enemy uses mainly ballistic weapons.
Today, in the southern regions of the country it is very difficult to shoot down ballistic missiles, so the enemy is relying on this type of terror. Representative of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army "South" Serhiy Bratchuk stated this during the telethon.
According to him, Russian terrorists use a warhead with cluster submunitions in Iskander missiles to inflict as much harm as possible on civilians. Bratchuk also added that Putin’s troops were able to accumulate resources to regularly terrorize Odesa.
“The enemy, firstly, has accumulated the appropriate resource, we know this from the data of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Ballistics, with regards to the Iskanders, they are used with cluster munitions in order to have more casualties. Secondly, ballistics is what , which is now very difficult to intercept, in particular in the south. Here are our hopes for those promises that, I am sure, will be fulfilled to strengthen our air defense,” Bratchuk said.
In addition, he added that the enemy is relying on ballistics, because such missiles are extremely difficult for air defense systems. At the same time, he believes that the terror will continue until air defense systems capable of destroying ballistic missiles appear in the south of Ukraine.
“Another range of missiles is not used now, because they are intercepted by our air defense forces. Therefore, the enemy is trying to hit with precisely the ammunition that is the most painful today. I think that this tactic will continue, but in any case we will become stronger and there will be fewer such attacks,” - said Bratchuk.
