The Ministry of Youth and Sports recognized the Lviv football club "Karpaty" as critical to the functioning of the economy during martial law. Accordingly, the club received the opportunity to reserve from the mobilization of at least 50% of military personnel.

On April 27, Lviv “Karpaty” won the 6th round of the second stage of the Championship Group of the First League in a match with “Poltava” and advanced to the Premier League ahead of schedule. Already on May 2, an order appeared on the website of the Ministry of Sports to determine the limited liability company “Football Club “Karpaty” to meet the criteria and be critical for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihoods of the population during a special period.

The status of “critical” allows 50% of military personnel not to be mobilized. And in case of justified need, the number of military personnel subject to reservation may exceed 50%.

According to Trybuna, Karpaty became the seventh club to be recognised as critical to the functioning of the economy and the livelihoods of the population during the special period. Earlier, UPL clubs Shakhtar, Dynamo, Dnipro-1, Zorya, Obolon and Kryvbas, as well as the Ukrainian Football Association and the Ukrainian Premier League, received this status.
