TRC employees kidnapped volunteer Oleksandr Mishchyshen

Volunteer Oleksandr Mishchyshen was abducted by employees of the Khotyn Regional TRC in Chernivtsi region.

His daughter-in-law Victoriya Yurchuk told about this on Facebook.

She said that employees of the Podilska Perlyna charity foundation from Khmelnytskyi were transporting food for IDPs to Chernivtsi region and were stopped at a checkpoint, where Mishchyshen was offered to go to the TRC.

Victoriya’s story:

"An employee of the RTRC and the JV talked to him, who did not introduce himself to me and Olha, so I only heard him called ’Sania’... We explained that this was help for internally displaced women and children who had lost their homes and everything they had. The aforementioned "Sanya" mockingly spoke about our activities and negatively about IDPs, calling them those who "fled the East to be here now".

A few minutes later, Oleksandr returned with an employee of the RTRC and SS to our office, where the latter informed him that Oleksandr needed to go to the nearest RTRC and SS to update his data. As Oleksandr is registered with the Khmelnytskyi City TRC and is restricted in wartime, we asked whether Oleksandr could receive a summons to update his data at his place of registration and place of residence. We were denied, arguing that we had already crossed the borders of Khmelnytskyi region and were now in Chernivtsi region.

When we asked again whether Oleksandr could update his data in the ’Reserve+’ application, we were also denied, calling the programme illegitimate, illegal and not even tested, and then saying "it’s just a programme from the Playmarket, it doesn’t mean anything".

When we asked them to issue Oleksandr a summons to update his data, they also refused, and an unnamed employee of the RTRC and SS said that the only option was to go to the nearest RTRC and SS and update the data now."

Viktoriya says that Oleksandr agreed to go to the TRC "to avoid even more moral and physical abuse", after which he lost contact with them. Later, Mishchyshen managed to contact his family and said that he was being taken to the Rivne training ground.
