The permission to attack military targets beyond the Ukrainian-Russian border is an important and long-awaited step by the partners “in the right direction.” However, Ukraine continues to work to expand the zone of use of Western weapons on the territory of the aggressor state of the Russian Federation.

This was stated on June 3 at a briefing in Kyiv, jointly with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country, Dmytro Kuleba. He noted: the permission granted by the allies has its own conditions and rules.

“In short, we appreciate the decision made and we will continue to work with our partners to expand the area of application. Why they imposed these restrictions is my answer: I don’t know. But this is a big decision and we must respect and welcome it,” Kuleba shared his opinion . .

The last two years have shown that "small decisions come first, but then they develop into larger decisions."

Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Estonia

The head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry, for his part, emphasized that from the first day there were no restrictions for Ukraine from Estonia, because the Ukrainians have every reason, according to international law, to defend themselves and attack the military infrastructure in Russia.

“We defend this position among our allies and discuss this during our meetings in NATO. I agree with Dmitry that these steps that the United States, Germany, Sweden and many other countries have taken to lift the ban are a move in the right direction, but my The position is very clear: we cannot limit Ukraine in the use of long-range missiles to protect itself and harm the Russian military machine,” Tsakhkna noted.
