Mukachevo mayor Andriy Baloha detained in case of stadium sale

The NABU and the SSU detained Mukachevo Mayor Andriy Baloha in connection with the sale of the Avangard stadium.

This was reported by NABU and SAPO.

The head of the local district council, Mikhail Lanyo, and the head of the land department of the city council, Artur Samilyak, were also detained.

According to investigators, losses from the sale of land and the Avangard stadium in Mukachevo amounted to approximately 100 million hryvnia.

The basis for this was an expert monetary assessment with an underestimated value of the site, for which the owners of the appraiser company were given a bribe. As a result of such transactions, land with a market value of UAH 84.6 million was sold for only UAH 9.6 million.

Despite such a meager price, the mayor, by personal decision, also provided the society with an installment plan for 6 months.

Searches in this case already took place in October 2023.

The arrest has not yet been officially announced.
