1xBet continues its activities in Ukraine through scams and fake sports matches
The pro-Russian scam company 1xBet and its owners continue to prey on Ukrainians and people worldwide by using fake sports matches.
This is reported in an investigation by Bellingcat.
In September 2024, it was discovered that over 1,200 "short" football matches were streamed daily on 1xBet platforms, taking place in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. The "players" in these videos are actors working in shifts for $20 a day.
Interestingly, minors can also be seen in these recordings: some of them are just 16 years old, and the youngest is 14. It has been established that 1xBet illegally broadcast basketball matches from the "Svoi Arena" in Kyiv, despite the company’s activities being banned in Ukraine following the Russian invasion in 2022.
The Bellingcat report states that the arena is located only a kilometer away from a kindergarten that was affected by a Russian drone strike in November 2023.
Nevertheless, basketball matches in Ukraine continued to be broadcast on the Russian betting platform as recently as last month.
