An employee of the Kyiv TRC was detained for a bribe for "assistance" in postponing mobilization
Kyiv law enforcement officers detained and charged the assistant to the legal affairs head of one of the Kyiv district territorial recruitment and social support centers, who promised to help avoid administrative liability and obtain an illegal deferment from mobilization for monetary compensation.
This was reported by the Kyiv police on Facebook.
According to law enforcement, a man was brought to the recruitment center who had not registered for military service, did not have military registration documents, and refused to undergo a military medical commission. Under current legislation, administrative protocols had to be drawn up against him, under articles 210 and 210-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which required him to pay a substantial fine. Instead, the recruitment center official offered to help him avoid liability for 25,000 hryvnias. In addition, for 4,000 dollars, he promised to assist in registering for military service with a subsequent illegal deferment from mobilization.
Law enforcement documented the receipt of 25,000 hryvnias in illegal benefits by the suspect and detained him while receiving 4,000 dollars.
The detainee was charged under Part 3 of Article 368 and Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving undue benefit for oneself for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with demanding such benefit). According to the court’s decision, the suspect will be held in custody during the investigation. He faces up to ten years of imprisonment.
