A metropolitan lawyer is accused of fraudulently acquiring an apartment worth over 1.2 million hryvnias
In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, a lawyer fraudulently took possession of an apartment using fake documents and involving two accomplices. The suspect faces up to 8 years of imprisonment.
This was reported by the report from the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the city of Kyiv.
The Kyiv police have completed a pre-trial investigation in the case of a fraudulent acquisition of an apartment in the Solomyanskyi district valued at over 1.2 million hryvnias. The main suspect in this case is a 48-year-old lawyer accused of using fake documents and involving two accomplices to execute the scheme.
According to the investigation, in 2020, the lawyer discovered that the real owners of the property had died several years earlier. Using a fake passport, he involved a man and a woman who, with forged documents, posed as the apartment’s owners.
“They fabricated a story about a $30,000 debt, which allegedly forced the transfer of the property to the figure,” police reported.
In September of the current year, investigators exposed the lawyer and notified him of the suspicion.
Currently, the indictment has been sent to the court, where the lawyer faces up to eight years in prison according to the penalties outlined in the articles.
