The Ukrainian authorities were considering the possibility of relocating to London in February 2022, — Prystaiko

Former Ukrainian ambassador to the United Kingdom, Vadym Prystaiko, revealed that in February 2022, the possibility of relocating the Ukrainian government to London was discussed in case of a critical situation developing.

In an interview with Ukrainian media, Prystaiko explained that he personally proposed this idea to the state leadership at the beginning of February while accompanying the then Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, during his visit to Kyiv.

«We proactively proposed an option to ensure the government’s work if the situation became threatening. It was not about creating a "government in exile," but about the possibility of continuing to govern the country from abroad,» the diplomat noted.

According to Prystaiko, at that time, the proposal was more preventive but indicated readiness to consider all possible scenarios for the development of events.
