Europe has provided Ukraine with assistance of 135 billion euros — von der Leyen

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the total amount of aid to Ukraine from the European Union has already reached 135 billion euros.

According to her, this support includes military, financial, and humanitarian assistance. She separately emphasized the importance of the new financing package of 50 billion euros, which the EU approved in early February 2024.

«We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes», — von der Leyen declared, adding that Europe will not allow the aggressor to prevail and will continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

She also noted that in addition to security support, the EU is helping Ukraine reform its economy and move closer to EU membership.
