The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved in the first reading and overall bill No. 12457 on extending the period for undergoing a military medical commission for the "limitedly fit" by four months. This decision was supported by 313 members of parliament.

This was reported in the Telegram channel of the member of parliament from "Holos," Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

According to the document, Ukrainian citizens aged 25 to 60, who were previously recognized as "limitedly fit" for military service (except for those officially recognized as disabled), must undergo a repeated medical examination by June 5, 2025, to determine their fitness for military service from the moment the law comes into effect.

Such individuals do not need to wait for a summons to undergo a repeated commission. The table attached to the bill indicates that citizens are required to independently contact the TRC and SS or through the electronic cabinet of the draftee, reservist, and service member (Reserve+) to obtain a referral to the MMC for medical examination.

This was also mentioned by a representative of the Ministry of Defence, Dmytro Lazutkin. According to him, as of February 3, about 20-27% of those required to do so by February 5 (the initial deadline) had undergone the repeated military medical commission.

Lazutkin also emphasized that non-compliance or untimely compliance with this provision will be considered as an administrative violation. He clarified that reserved "limitedly fit" individuals should also undergo a repeated military medical commission.
